Hattrup Farms Welcomes New Ownership

Writer's picture: Erik McLaughlinErik McLaughlin

We are pleased to announce the sale of Elephant Mountain and Sugarloaf Vineyards in Washington State’s Rattlesnake Hills AVA to Andrew Schultz of Brothers in Farms and Tinte Estates, owned by Tim Gamble and Teresa Spellman Gamble. Founders Joe and Susan Hattrup are thrilled to see the legacy of their vineyards, spanning 217 acres with 162 dedicated to vines, continue under this new leadership. These are two of the finest vineyards in Washington State that exemplify the potential of the Rattlesnake Hills AVA.

This is a full circle story, as Andrew Schultz cut his teeth in these vineyards ultimately becoming their General Manager under the mentorship of Joe Hattrup and foreman Emilio Garcia. Andrew went on to form his own successful farming company. While there were multiple offers on the vineyards, the Hattrups are excited to see them ultimately go to Andrew, Tim, and Teresa.

Tim and Teresa Gamble, founders of Tinte Estates and Tinte Cellars, bring their mission of merging exceptional winemaking with philanthropy to this venture, further strengthening their portfolio of mature vineyards in Washington’s acclaimed Rattlesnake Hills and Red Mountain AVAs.

This acquisition ensures the continued production of premium grapes and builds on longstanding relationships with winery clients. Andrew Schultz and Tinte Estates invite interested wineries to explore opportunities for sourcing fruit from these distinguished vineyards, ensuring the legacy of Hattrup Farms thrives for years to come.
